Kedarnath Musk Deer Sanctuary

Kedarnath Musk Deer Sanctuary is the most beautiful place and located area of kedranath temple. Surrounding area is called kedarkhand. Named after the famous shrine of God Kedarnath, located just outside the Sanctuary.There is immense natural beauty of dense forest and bugyals,and many species of plants and wild animals specially endangered species,Musk deer ,Serow,Himalayan black bear,Himalayan thar,snow leopard, 230 species of birds and 23 mammal species in whi are found in the sanctuary.There is also a Musk deer breeding center which was established in 1982, at Kanchulakharak in the sanctuary.

 Guptkashi, Ukhimath, Kalimath,Triyginarayan, temples comes under kedarkhand area.Rudraprayag -to gaurikund road takes us to the temples and santuary . and the Chamoli-Kund road that runs approximately along the south-western boundary of the sanctuary from Mandal to Tala.

Best time to Visit: April & June & September to November.
